Resurrection

In the spring of 1968 a man named Riddle arrived at a hill to drill for water.  He instead found a large circus tent bag stuffed with a woman's body.  The search for her identity yawned into years as efforts dwindled to myths rehearsed in the local imagination, tales retold by children who sneaked out in the night on dares to the grave of the Tent Girl. Twenty years later Riddle moved his family to a faraway town, where his daughter met a boy in class named Todd. The boy was smitten with the new girl and obsessed with the story of sharp violence she brought.  Within ten years Todd Matthews married Lori, trial and erred his way to solve Tent Girl's identity, and in the process became among the most respected amateur sleuths in North America. RESURRECTION is the story of the world that Matthews crawled into, a story braided with coincidence and kinship and three close to home Jane Does.
