• The Write to Heal Project Center for Women and Families, Louisville KY
(sponsored by NAPT Poetry Alive Grant 2003) workshops provided for clients of the Center for Women and Families, a reading of works at the Kentucky Theatre, and experiential training in journal therapy and poetry therapy for 27 counselors and community therapists.
Arden Court Alzheimer's Care, Louisville KY
Poetry and visual art experiences that revolve around sensory memories. All activities integrated Montesorri methods of learning, memory and recall to assist the 25 participants and 3 aides in re-telling stories from the seasons of their lives.
Bluegrass West Comprehensive Care, Frankfort KY
Poetry in twelve therapeutic sessions with two different counselors of all female clients who suffer from alcoholism, bi-polar disorder, major depression, OCD, boderline personality disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder. Poems were geared to assist participants in building community and in addressing issues of fear of change, indecision, trauma and low self-esteem.
